Emtron TMtune v0.50 and TM16 firmware v0.34 released
Emtron announced new releases of its TMtune software and TM16 firmware.
Emtron has released TMtune v0.50 software and v0.34 firmware for its TM16 transmission control unit, the standalone gearbox controller that integrates with Emtron ECUs and supports transmissions including the ZF 8HP, Nissan GR6 (R35 GT-R) and BMW/Getrag GS7.
The headline additions are transbrake and launch control functions. The transbrake locks the transmission by engaging reverse together with the current forward gear (or a user-defined clutch selection), so the engine can build load against the torque converter for drag staging and launches. It includes lockouts based on output shaft speed, gear and a user function, plus a timed bump feature that briefly releases the brake to creep forward in the staging beams. Emtron warns that misuse can damage the transmission and driveline.
The release also adds a base calibration for the BMW/Getrag GS7 dual-clutch gearbox. Full release notes and tuning guides are on the Emtron Resource Centre.
