MaxxECU MTune 1.161.1 adds BMW M5 F90 8HP shifter support
Point release adds BMW M5 F90 8HP shifter support, Suzuki GSX1400 and Daihatsu KF-VE triggers, and a TDC pulse fix for 2-stroke/Wankel engines.
MaxxECU's MTune 1.161.1 update, released on 28 July 2026, added support for the BMW M5 F90 gear selector in its built-in ZF 8HP transmission control, with optional use of the shifter's Drivelogic buttons to change the 8HP drive mode. A follow-up release (1.161.2) later fixed the shifter's background light and allowed shifting from neutral to drive while moving.
Other changes include automatic handling of the brake switch signal when using a Turbolamik transmission controller alongside a vehicle CAN integration, revised charge warning lamp logic for BMW MS42, MS43 and MSS52 CAN integrations to avoid false warnings at low idle, new trigger patterns for the Suzuki GSX1400 crank and Daihatsu Mira KF-VE cam, a larger Mini Scripts editor, offline tune version information in the title bar and missing PID tables for second exhaust and intake cams.
Bug fixes include a GEN1 Expansion Module configuration not being sent to the module, a possible ECU lock-up with the ERASEALL command introduced in 1.161, a communication lock issue for passwords set before 1.158, and the TDC pulse output timing for two-stroke and Wankel rotary engines.
