PRI 2025: FuelTech shows single-cylinder EFI throttle body for junior dragsters

· Dragzine

At PRI FuelTech showed a billet single-cylinder EFI throttle body for junior dragsters alongside the FT Spark Max 2000 and Pro HV driver.

At the 2025 PRI (Performance Racing Industry) Show, FuelTech showed a range of new electronic fuel injection (EFI) products, according to drag racing site Dragzine, which spoke with FuelTech's Luis De Leon.

The item aimed at the youngest racers was a billet single-cylinder EFI throttle body designed for junior dragsters. Made in Brazil and intended to work with FuelTech's injectors, it is meant to give junior racers early experience of fuel injection systems similar to those used in larger cars, as an alternative to carburettors.

For higher-powered cars, FuelTech also showed the third-generation FTSPARK ignition, called MAX2000, a capacitive discharge ignition (CDI) unit delivering up to 2,000 millijoules of spark energy in the same housing and connector as before, and the PRO HV high-voltage injector driver, which works with direct and port injection and allows much larger injectors to be used. Dragzine noted both share a water-resistant housing and connector. Pricing and release dates were not given in the report.
