FuelTech unveils FTSPARK GEN3 MAX2000 and PRO HV injector driver
Third-gen CDI ignition delivering up to 2,000 mJ plus a high-voltage injector driver for DI and port injection, launched around PRI 2025.
FuelTech announced two new products for the 2025 PRI (Performance Racing Industry) Show: the FTSPARK GEN3 MAX2000 ignition system and the PRO HV injector driver.
The FTSPARK GEN3 MAX2000 is a capacitive discharge ignition (CDI) unit that can deliver up to 2,000 mJ per channel, with higher spark current and longer spark duration than earlier generations. Unlike previous FTSPARK units, which could not go much below 450 to 500 mJ, it can also be run as low as 150 mJ. It supports up to eight independent channels, per-channel diagnostics over CAN, operation from a single ECU ignition output and standard motorsport ignition inputs so it can be used with any brand of ECU. It keeps the same pinout and mounting as GEN2 for a direct swap.
The PRO HV injector driver is a high-voltage module for both gasoline direct injection (GDI) and port injectors, with a boost stage quoted at 65 V and 17 A in this announcement, followed by peak and hold phases. It supports up to eight direct injectors and two GDI fuel pumps, multi-pulse injection and CAN-based configuration. FuelTech says it can cut port injector dead time from around 1.4 ms to as little as 0.3 ms. Both were scheduled for release in 2026; the driver later launched as the PRO HV-8.
