FuelTech Vision Software 3.0 released, adds FT470 support
Major Vision release adding FT470 support, a VE fuel model with closed-loop learning, high-pressure DI pump control, a 4-channel oscilloscope, a CAN viewer and EV inverter/BMS support.
FuelTech has released version 3.0 of its free FuelTech Vision tuning software for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. The headline change is support for the new screenless FT470 ECU, which now sits alongside the FT700 in the Vision family, and the release is required to configure an FT470.
The update adds a volumetric efficiency (VE) fuel model with VE and lambda target tables, a redesigned injector setup screen, and an adaptive closed-loop mode that can learn long-term corrections in an RPM by manifold pressure table (off by default). Direct injection support arrives with high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) control and rail pressure diagnostics, and the electronic throttle can now self-learn its dead zone, gains and end stops. New diagnostic tools include a four-channel oscilloscope and a live CAN bus sniffer, and drag racers get an automatically generated PDF race report from logged runs.
Other changes include more than 1,100 parameters editable live without restarting the ECU, map files about a third of their old size, improved logging triggers, dashboard additions and new electric-vehicle hardware support. FuelTech lists several items that need user action after updating, notably re-importing maps converted from PowerFT ECUs with older versions and possibly re-tuning the derivative gain on throttle-based boost control.
