FuelTech FT700PLUS chosen for new-generation Stock Car racing
FuelTech said its FT700PLUS system powers the new generation of Brazilian Stock Car racing.
FuelTech's FT700PLUS vehicle control unit (VCU) was chosen as the electronic control system for the new-generation car used in Brazil's Stock Car Pro Series. The car, the first new platform in 15 years, was unveiled on 4 May 2025 at Interlagos in São Paulo.
The FT700PLUS runs the engine, the sequential transmission and the car's other onboard electronics, and also serves as the driver's instrument panel through its 12.3-inch integrated screen, with support for onboard cameras, remote communication and live monitoring. It was developed at FuelTech's headquarters in Porto Alegre with help from its US subsidiary in Georgia. Audace Tech led the car's development, with FuelTech supporting electronics integration, and 31 new cars were built in a short timeframe.
In two practice sessions the new cars ran more than two seconds quicker than the previous generation, with over 15 drivers within a second of each other. FuelTech noted the milestone came around the anniversary of the 2024 flood that hit its Porto Alegre facility.
