FuelTech announced its purchase of the Velopark circuit.

FuelTech, the Brazilian engine management company, announced it had bought Velopark, a well-known racing complex in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The venue was to be renamed FuelTech Motorsports Park, with FuelTech operating the racetrack from 2026 and karting equipment maker Techspeed running the kart track.

Velopark opened in 2008, conceived by investor Felipe Johannpeter and managed by partner-administrator and CEO Sofia Costa. It has a championship drag strip and a 1.3-mile road course, seating for more than 30,000 spectators, and has hosted events such as Stock Car, Formula Truck, Endurance Brasil and the South American Kart Championship. FuelTech described it as its home track.

The existing calendar ran until December 2025 under the Velopark name. FuelTech said it plans to use the facility as a proving ground for its technology and to support racing at grassroots and higher levels. The renamed park officially opened in February 2026.
