MaxxECU MTune 1.160 adds GEN2 Wi-Fi, Lua scripting, Expansion Module
Introduces Wi-Fi comms and a four-slot Lua scripting engine for GEN2 ECUs, Link CAN lambda support and support for the new Expansion Module.
MaxxECU released MTune 1.160 in April 2026, a major software update that brings several new capabilities to its second-generation (GEN2) engine control units.
GEN2 ECUs gain Wi-Fi communication, which can be switched on with a digital input, and a built-in Lua scripting engine with four independent script slots for custom CAN messaging, virtual sensors, output control and publishing live values. The release also adds support for MaxxECU's then-upcoming Expansion Module, a GEN2 peak extension setting that holds injector peak current longer to help with large injectors, and an option to bring GEN2 knock readings in line with GEN1 levels.
Across the range, new features include a manual priming function that pulses injectors at zero RPM to help start large high-compression race engines, a dynamic electronic throttle limiter, Link CAN lambda support, CAN frame pattern matching for multiplexed messages, and better control over which vehicle CAN signals each integration captures. New vehicle integrations include the Suzuki Swift ZC32 and 2010 Ford Mustang GT500, and new triggers cover a high-compression missing-tooth mode, Suzuki Alto F6A, revised Mazda MX-5 NB, Aston Martin AJV8, Rotax 850 E-TEC, Dodge Viper Gen 5 and Arctic Cat Catalyst. The logger and gauges also received a substantial interface overhaul.
